3 Buzzing Wilds: what’s the difference between Random, Expanding and Surrounding?
There is a Wild in the middle of the board, but what effect does it have: just one position, the entire reel, or adjacent symbols? With 3 Buzzing Wilds, the name of the effect is important. Not every Wild animation can be read as if it covers the same thing.

Read the name of the effect first
In provider release on 13 July 2023, the Expanding Wild can fill a reel vertically. The Surrounding Wild transforms adjacent symbols around a position. The spatial rules of the two are different.
There is also a Random Wilds option in the free-spin feature. The brief overview does not show the exact distribution of positions or chances of each animation. We will not give them as fact, and will not use a diagram to invent a winning line.
The duration and initial spin count are different
| Option | Initial free spins | Wild persistence |
|---|---|---|
| Random Wilds | 10 | Until the end of the bonus round |
| Expanding Wilds | 8 | Until the end of the bonus round |
| Surrounding Wilds | 6 | Until the end of the bonus round |
10, 8 and 6 are spin counts, not guaranteed awards. More initial spins are also not enough to say that the expected return is higher: the mechanics are different and we don’t have a probability table in the source. The table is for the identity check of the selected feature.

When positions overlap
Generic and hypothetical set example: effect A occupies positions r 2, r 3 and r 4; the effect B is on r 3, r 4 and r 5. There are four unique covered positions—r 2, r 3, r 4, r 5—at least six total entries in the two lists. r 3 and r 4 are listed twice.
This is not an actual Surrounding layout or game rule. It just shows why the position map is needed when there is an overlap. The four covered positions are also not four wins; winning-combination evaluation and paytable will decide the award.
What to record in a feature screenshot
Write the exact game title, feature option, spin sequence, Wild origin and final covered positions. For Expanding, specify the reel. For Surrounding, mark the adjacent positions that actually changed in the actual frame. For Random, use observed placements; don’t guess what you don’t see.
If the record is just an animation, separate it from the settled award. The two frames and history entry will help to know if the issue is feature identity, overlap or award interpretation. The visible Wild area is an intermediate state, not a spontaneous monetary result.
